A U.S. Citizen for over thirty years, “Siddhartha” had everything he’d ever dreamed of, all obtained through hard work, dedication, and the luck of growing up in the United States (unlike previous generations of his family). He had a beautiful wife, three kids, and his health. Siddhartha was only missing two things: his mother and father. His mother and father continued to reside in New Delhi, India, where they had lived since they were young adults. Siddhartha’s parents had visited the U.S. once; after Siddhartha had his first child. Despite their pleasant memories of the U.S., up until recently, Siddhartha’s parents had no intention of moving to the U.S. But as they aged, they found that what was most important to them was their son. It was at that point that Siddhartha contacted Slepian Law to inquire about the possibility of petitioning for U.S. Lawful Permanent Residence for his parents.
The senior partner from Slepian Law, Andrew Slepian, Esq. met Siddhartha at his home the next morning and together they mapped out the proposed itinerary for Siddhartha’s parents. Siddhartha was able to gather the required documentation quickly and the Petition for his parents was approved three months after the filing. The approved Petitions provided Siddhartha’s parents with immediately available visa numbers thus, Siddhartha’s parents immediately applied for U.S. Lawful Permanent Residence. Soon thereafter, Siddhartha’s parents “Consular Processed” in India and were granted Lawful Permanent Resident status. Siddhartha’s parents moved to the U.S. in August 2013 and presently reside with their son in Rochester, New York.
